Au contraire: The Javits Debacle

James R. Delisle

Years ago, we planted a perennial garden in our home’s backyard. Despite the ravages of Cleveland winters, brave, green shoots now pounce out of the ground right on schedule—I guess that’s why the season’s called spring. With only minimal care and a modicum of mulch, effort expended in planting years ago now pays off each May: tall, vibrant flowers bloom, adding a chorus of colors to the surrounding soil. Nature’s bounty at her best.
