In the Classroom: Gifted Students and Philosophy: Feminism and Social Justice

David A. White

Important philosophy is not always produced by philosophers—a claim that is not as paradoxical as it might initially appear. This series on philosophy and gifted students has concentrated on figures such as Plato, Aristotle, Augustine, Aquinas, and Rousseau. These individuals devoted their lives to thinking and writing about the classic issues of philosophy, hence their designation as “philosophers.”
